The three new phones, which are part of Samsung's M-series, will be sold through Samsung's website and Amazon's Indian division.

"The M series has been built around and incepted around Indian millennial consumers", said Asim Warsi, head of Samsung's mobile business in India, telling Reuters that the new phones are expected to bring about a doubling in online sales of Samsung phones in the country.

As per initial reports, which have not been confirmed, there will three smartphones under the new M-series: Samsung Galaxy M10; Samsung Galaxy M20 and Samsung Galaxy M30. To counter the likes of Xiaomi, Realme and Asus among others, Samsung is changing the strategy as early as this month.

After playing second fiddle to Chinese rival Xiaomi in India's burgeoning smartphone market in 2018, Samsung is set to fight back with a new line of budget-friendly handsets.

While the firm has already scheduled a launch event for the more interesting Galaxy S10, nothing has been heard of the Galaxy M phones in terms of their launch date.

In a press release, Samsung India has announced the roll out of their India-first smartphone: Samsung M-Series.

Last year, Korean publication ET News reported that Samsung is killing off its low-end J series of phones. This can feature a triple camera set-up. These M series smartphones are expected to feature latest Qualcomm's processors or the Samsung's proprietary Exynos processors as well.

The Galaxy M10 is the smallest of the bunch with a 6” display and 3,400mAh battery.

The M-phones will have a display with a teardrop notch or as Samsung calls it, Infinity V. Theyll sport an ultra-wide angle camera, a large battery and fast charging.
