Extreme Cold Warning issued for Waterloo Region

Temperatures will drop to 9 degrees on Sunday night, according to Accuweather.com. Wind chill values will hover around 0° with a gusty northwest wind around 15 miles per hour continues today. The Wind Chill Advisory is from 6pm Sunday night to Noon on Monday, January 21st.

Despite sunshine on Monday, it may not get much higher than 10-15.

An extreme cold warning remains in effect this morning for North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa, West Nipissing and all of northeastern Ontario.

A Wind Chill Advisory means cold air and the wind will combine to create wind chills as low as 20 below zero. Wind chills will make it feel like it's in the single digits. The temperature is expected to reach a high of 2C on Wednesday. Temperatures will recover to the low 30s in the afternoon.

A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued in the wake of a winter storm that brought rain, snow and ice to the Pittsburgh region.

A second cold front will affect our weather toward the end of the week.

The cold has prompted multiple school boards, including the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board, to cancel buses today.
