The Houston Chronicle reports health officials were told the four children who fell ill had received their first of two measles vaccines.

The Bell County Public Health Department confirmed a measles case in a child in Western Bell County. Clark County also announced that it added another case, bringing the Vancouver-area measles count up to 50.

There is one additional King County measles case, who contracted the disease after traveling to Clark County.

The CDC says there have been 79 cases of measles so far this year in the states that reported data, and it's only February. If exposed to the virus, anyone who is not immune is likely to get measles.

However, measles is highly contagious. The amount of measles vaccines given out in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties for the last week of January was three times as high as the same period past year.

Infectious people were at Costco, the airport, a Blazers game and other sites.

But Selmayr himself rejected this, tweeting: "On the European Union side, nobody is considering this". Tusk said he hopes she will bring to Brussels "a realistic suggestion on how to end the impasse".

The vast majority of Vancouver-area cases were not vaccinated against the virus. One person had one dose of the vaccine, which is 93 percent effective.

While Public Health has urged people with measles-like symptoms to call ahead to medical providers before visiting their providers, there were three new exposure locations identified in the latest Public Health news release, and all three were medical facilities. The vaccine can reduce the risk of infection if gotten within 72 hours after exposure to the virus.

According to Montgomery County officials, a 2-year-old girl is recovering from the disease.

The health department said there are two other potential cases of measles that are pending as they wait for test results.

Vaccination remains the most effective method for preventing measles, according to the Bell County Health District. There were 200 vaccinations given per day last year in that last week of January, and 600 per day this year.
