The Alliance of American Football made its debut on Saturday, and Bercovici was part of one of the league's first highlights - though he was on the wrong end.

One of the brilliant things that the AAF has done in trying to make the league get off the ground with a solid following is their allocation of players to teams. It was founded by film and television producer Charlie Ebersol and former National Football League front-office executive Bill Polian. Marshall finished with five targets and could have had more if the game did not get out of hand. According to No Extra Points, Marshall had three receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.

The Apollos' head coach Steve Spurrier is no stranger to the state of Florida. All eight AAF teams are incentivized to load their roster with local talent - players that have notably played for either the local college or professional teams.

That above play right there was more than enough to go viral on social media and garner a ton of more people to tune in and watch the new upstart league in a country that absolutely loves the sport of football.

"Our games have been reimagined to be faster, with fewer commercials and more action", said Waddell.

The Alliance of American Football is taking the football world by storm.

The AAF has already found multiple broadcast partners for the 2019 season. The first two games in league history will take place on Saturday at 8 p.m. and will be shown on CBS. The NFL Network has agreed to broadcast 19 games throughout the entire season, while CBS will air one AAF game per week.

So if you're wondering, "What football games are on today?" know this: There are two scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 10.

Both home teams won the two premiere games on Saturday night, with the Orlando Apollos beating the Atlanta Legends 40-6 and the San Antonio Commanders beating the San Diego Fleet 15-6.

For the Arizona Hotshots, that means that the likes of former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Trevor Knight, as well as Pac-12 alums like Scooby Wright III, Josh Huff and Thomas Durante are all featured on the roster.

Overall, it was kind of fun, with Sunday promising the debut of former San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary as the coach of the Memphis Express in a 4 p.m.
