City have now scored 33 goals in their last five home games in all competitions and have a chance of lifting their first silverware of the season when they face Chelsea again at Wembley in the League Cup final on February 24.

And this was their worst loss in any competition since 1991 after failing to recover from Raheem Sterling's fourth-minute opener.

"At that moment we had to only stay in the match and we were not able to stay in the match because we made a lot of mistakes against the wrong opponents". Maybe the goal we concede after three minutes it was hard to play.

Despite an impressive start to the season, Sarri has taken them backwards and they're in danger of falling behind in the race to qualify for next season's Champions League. "They played really fantastic football today". In some moments we played good but not this consistent.

Sarri rushed down the tunnel after the game without shaking Pep Guardiola's hands, but insisted he did not see the Spaniard, and would see him after the game as usual.

"I don't know", he said. "It needs time, it only depends on the belief of the owners and the people in charge". "I don't know why".

'What matters to me is finishing the season in the best way and winning trophies'. He also became City's top-scorer in the league, with 160 in 229 appearances.

He refereed us against South Africa as well and we don't seem to see eye-to-eye. "We pushed a good team all the way but we can play better".

Leicester have lost four of their last five league games, increasing the pressure on under-fire boss Claude Puel. With a cleverly taken free kick down the right, Kevin De Bruyne released Bernardo Silva, who cut back for Sterling to strike into the net.

Aguero spoke to CityTV after the game to praise the all-round performance of his side. "I'll go to say hello to him later, it was by chance". "But his reaction was a little bit better".

Aguero had a simple task to make it 3-0 six minutes later when he pounced on Ross Barkley's slack header towards his own goal.

And Ilkay Gundogan's shot from the edge of the area then had too much power for the world's most expensive goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to compound Chelsea's woes.

Although Aguero headed against the crossbar early in the second half, he only had to wait until the 56th to seal his 15th City hat trick _ and a record-equaling 11th in the Premier League with Alan Shearer.

"Even Mourinho won't come back here". And Silva's pass opened the visitors up again for the sixth as he picked out Oleksandr Zinchenko who crossed for Sterling to tap home.
