See the first look at Will Smith's blue Genie in Aladdin trailer

In this special look at Disney's "Aladdin", we finally get our first look at Will Smith as The Genie in action and he is definitely blue! Mena Massoud stars as the street-rat-with-a-heart-of-gold Aladdin, with Naomi Scott as the lovely and determined Princess Jasmine.

As promised, Will Smith has granted fans' wishes and been transformed into a blue hue for Aladdin. Could Will Smith end up providing a performance just as good as the original?

Will Smith stunned Grammys viewers Sunday night as he made a very blue appearance as the Genie from "Aladdin". After quite some time of bubbling anticipation, the studio has released a new teaser to preview the film, which stars Will Smith as the famous genie.

Depending on how quickly we can climb back above the freezing mark, that will depict how much ice we can see. Temperatures on Monday will start in the upper 30s and then by the afternoon highs will reach around 50.

Other members of the cast, led by director Guy Ritchie, include Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, along with Marwan Kenzari, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar. The publicity photo above looks a little more polished. And I say this as someone who's been an ardent defender of Ritchie's last couple of fun-filled blockbusters. I think it'll stand out as unique even in the Disney world. "There hasn't been a lot of that hip-hop flavor in Disney history", Smith added.

Aladdin opens in theaters on May 24.
