Lacefront Tangle: Nicki Minaj Beefing With BET Over This Petty Tweet

Someone over at BET had to learn the hard way - you do not come for Nicki Minaj unless she sends for you.

But last night during the Grammys, where Cardi B became the first solo female rapper to win Best Rap Album award, BET's social media captioned a post about the win with the sentence: "Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront". Of course the distasteful tweet didn't sit well with Nicki, and she quickly made a decision to cancel her show with them.

Minaj appeared to throw in fellow artists at Young Money, which includes the record label's founder, Lil Wayne, as part of the festival withdrawal.

Afterward, Minaj thanked fans for their support, adding, "Stay tuned".

On Monday, the network released a statement apologizing for an offensive tweet getting out to the masses. "We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation", BET said noting that an internal audit will be conducted to assure these types of posts are not published again.

Beijing faces growing global pressure over its so-called "de-radicalisation" programme in its far western province. But state-controlled China Radio International (CRI) released a 26-second video on its Turkish service on Sunday.

In another post, Nicki thanked her fans for their support, writing. Unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by a post that should never have been written.

The statement continued, "We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. And further does not reflect our company values", the network said.

"We have apologised to Nicki and her team".

Lil Wayne did not announce that he is canceling his performance at the BET Experience, but he is standing by his protege in her feud against the network.
