Maurizio Sarri's job has come under serious threat after his Chelsea side were hammered 6-0 by Manchester City and slipped out of the top 4 positions in the League. Lampard has been installed as the favourite to replace Sarri by some bookmakers but the former midfielder was quick to put a dampener on those links. "I'll play the players we're waiting for instead".

"With my Chelsea hat on, you have a feeling for it and it's not nice", the former England worldwide told the media on Monday.

"I'm just happy to be working with Maurizio again at a big club like Chelsea which has so much history and wonderful team-mates", Higuain told Chelsea's official magazine.

Chelsea's stars have history of turning on their manager when the going gets tough, and they now sit sixth in the table.

"So we talk about the attacking players City have at the other end, Liverpool can nearly match them I would say, but in terms of Van Dijk, Liverpool have the best defender".

Man-Utd-PSG: Neymar and Cavani give Tuchel tactical headache
There will be moments when we'll defend because I expect a very attacking Manchester, very fearless , with many attacking players. United made a loss when they sold Di Maria for 63 million euros (£44.3 million at the time ), but it was very much PSG's gain.

"For Chelsea, it was a tough day".

City ran riot at the Etihad Stadium, scoring nearly at will in the first 25 minutes to take a 4-0 lead and cruising to three points without having to hit their best in the second period.

"They are obviously a team bereft of confidence, now whether that is because they don't like the way they are playing or don't agree with the way they are playing, the players still have to go out and give more", Clement added.

Other names in the frame for the job are Gianfranco Zola, Jose Mourinho, Laurent Blanc and of course, Jose Mourinho who could potentially return for his third spell at the club.
