Read Michelle Obama's texts with her mother about the Grammys

Obama insisted that she had told her mom she would be on the show, but Mom was having none of it: "No you did not", Robinson wrote.

After Michelle told her mom that her post-Grammys text was "so typically you", she asked her whether she'd tuned in for the viral moment. Obama later affirmed, "I am a real star... by the way", to which Robinson responded with a simple "Yeah".

"No you did not (tell me)", wrote Michelle Obama's mother to her.

The real kicker came when Shields asked Obama, "Did you meet any of the real stars or did you run after you were done?"

Last night, Obama shared screenshots of a text conversation with her mother, in which it was revealed that Robinson doesn't necessarily view her daughter as a celebrity in the same realm as the women she shared the stage with.

"When your mom doesn't think you're a "real" celebrity...."

After all, Mars One itself isn't an engineering firm, and has no operations in building space craft. Even when she was passed over, Beemer said she was glad to have been part of the selection process.

From the sound of it, not much has changed about her "that don't impress me much" attitude - much to the delight of her daughter's followers.

While the former FLOTUS scored a standing ovation as she helped open Sunday's show alongside Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jennifer Lopez and Alicia Keys, a text she's shared from her mom, Marian Robinson, undoubtedly put her ego in check.

Robinson lived at the White House with her daughter during her son-in-law's tenure as president. I just had to share it with all of you.

You might top your university, become a world-renowned artist, even win the Nobel Prize, but to your Mom you'll always remain the stupid kid who didn't do the dishes.
