One thing that stood out to him immediately was the fan support he had on the road.

Much-traveled Lin is averaging 10.7 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds a game this season for Atlanta but appears destined for his eighth National Basketball Association club, having made his debut in 2010 with Golden State. The three-time All-Star was a stalwart of Memphis' "Grit and Grind" era that saw the club make seven straight playoff appearances, including the Western Conference final in the 2012-13 season. "The amount of energy that you feel around the city is great".

Along with that gnarly showing of skill and versatility put on display during that, like, three minute sequence, Gasol finished his Raptors home debut with 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting, six rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block as Toronto took a thriller over the Brooklyn Nets. "That's what you want from an organization that you're playing for".

Gasol appreciates Toronto's longstanding Spanish connection. Raptors assistant Sergio Scariolo coached Spain.

The Wise County Sheriff's office says Andrew Joseph Fabila's bond was set at $60,000 on four child endangerment charges. The children were found by cops who described the discovery as the worst case of child abuse they had ever seen.

"I gave it my all (in Memphis)", Gasol said, according to Lewenberg. He was just 16 when his brother Pau was drafted by the Grizzlies in 2001, and the entire Gasol family made the move from Barcelona to the southern US city. Marc was drafted 48th overall by the Lakers in the 2007 draft, then traded to Memphis as part of a deal that sent brother Pau to L.A. Gasol was also named Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.

Being traded might have been a tough adjustment earlier in his career, Gasol said, but it sounds like he was ready to make this move.

The US-based sports network's website said Lin, a 30-year-old point guard best known for his "Lin-sanity" run of success with NY in 2012, could wind up with the Canadian club by mid-week.
