During the Los Angeles Lakers and L.A. Clippers' Monday night matchup, things got heated for a while between LeBron James and JaMychal Green. The Los Angeles Lakers have split their last eight home games.

The 10th-place Lakers, who have lost five of their past six, are 5 1/2 games behind the final Western Conference playoff spot.

LeBron James scored 27 points and Rajon Rondo had his 32nd career triple-double, but the Lakers took their ninth loss in 12 games since they beat the Clippers on January 31. The Los Angeles Lakers are shooting 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 69 percent from the free throw line.

Kyle Kuzma then scored 13 points before he limped off the floor with an apparent ankle injury with 6:04 to play.

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, HBO responded: "Despite the desperate lengths taken to undermine the film, our plans remain unchanged".

Lakers guard Reggie Bullock sank a long step-back jumper at the buzzer to cut the deficit to 91-85 entering the fourth, but the Clippers scored the first four points of the fourth to take their first double-digit lead. The Clippers are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Los Angeles and the road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Since Feb. 1, the Lakers, Suns and Knicks are the only three teams to not cover a game when listed as the favorite.

"I told Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander], 'Wait until the end of the year.' Just like I said we were the best team in LA".

That discussion will only get louder after this weekend, where the Lakers lost to the lowly Phoenix Suns to push their playoff hopes from unlikely to almost impossible, and where the Celtics lost to the Houston Rockets to give them five losses in the past six games. The Lakers seem to be reaching a new low every time they take the court and their chances of making the playoffs is getting bleaker by the day.

Thus far, no one from the Lakers has approached James about sitting out games to preserve his body, or improve their draft lottery odds.
