He held meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

While announcing the Saudi minister's visit, Foreign Minister Qureshi Wednesday said that the Saudi envoy is coming to Pakistan with a "special message" from Crown Prince Mohammad.

Pakistan had also captured Indian pilot Abhinandan alive last week who was later handed over to India as a gesture of peace - an action widely praised by the global community. "When confrontation gives way to dialogue and disagreement are settled, we can create a better future through cooperation", he said.

The foreign minister said he would speak to the prime minister regarding NAP and taking parliamentary leaders into confidence on the matter. "The steps we have taken are quite commendable", he stated.

"China has paid close attention to the present situation between Pakistan and India, and appreciates Pakistan's remaining calm and exercising restraint from the beginning, and persisting in pushing to lower the temperature with India via dialogue", the ministry paraphrased Kong as saying.

"Wang said the informal summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in Wuhan in central China previous year had not only "...created a new model of high level interactions between our two countries, deepened trust between our leaders but (also) set the direction for our future relations".

Pakistan also intends to send a delegation shortly to India to discuss the Kartarpur Corridor between the two countries, he added.

Lu also welcomed Pakistan's plans to open a corridor for the visa-free visit of Indian Sikh pilgrims to Guru Nanak shrine in Kartarpur.
