With an average value of $17 million, Mosley's contract is $3.5 million more than the average value of the next most lucrative inside-linebacker contract - the four-year, $54 million deal that former Oxford High School standout Kwon Alexander will sign with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. That effort now includes spending $85 million on middle linebacker C.J. Mosley, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora confirms.

Last season, Mosley recorded 105 tackles and had one interception for Baltimore, who had the NFL's top-ranked defense. It marked the fourth time Mosley put up at least 100 tackles with Baltimore.

According to ESPN, Mosley is one of two players, along with Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers, to record at least 500 tackles, eight sacks and eight interceptions since he entered the National Football League in 2014.

Knicks issue statement after James Dolan was filmed banning a fan
New York Knicks owner James Dolan made headlines over the weekend after threatening to ban a fan who told him to sell the team . The Knicks are dead last in the National Basketball Association with a 13-54 record and have won one playoff series since 2000.

Mosley spent his first five seasons with the Ravens and made four Pro Bowls.

In addition to the huge Mosley deal, the Jets also went out and signed former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr.

All four played significant roles in helping the Ravens rank first in the National Football League in total defense and second in scoring defense last season. Instead, they let him hit free agency and the Jets pounced. Mix Quinnen Williams in via the draft at No. 3 (just hypothetically) along with Jamal Adams on the backend and it's pretty easy to fall in love with this Jets defense as long as Gregg Williams isn't pulled away by one of his 92 handwritten head coaching offers before he can coach them up.
