YouTube launches music streaming service in SA called YouTube Music

Today, YouTube has finally announced the launch of its music streaming service, YouTube Music (ad-supported), in India. With the launch of YouTube Music, users in India will now be able to listen to their favorite music, explore new music, and get a personalized feed, catering to their preferences.

The YouTube Music streaming and download service in India includes popular Bollywood Hindi scores and other local-language music, the Mountainview, California-based technology giant said in a blog post. The "made-for-music" app and web player offers official songs, albums, thousands of playlists and artist radio from Indian and worldwide artists, as well as access to YouTube's tremendous catalog of remixes, live performances, covers and music videos that aren't available anywhere else. In addition to the YouTube Music Premium benefits, YouTube Premium subscribers also get access to YouTube Originals like Cobra Kai, an ad-free experience with background playback of videos with the regular YouTube app, and offline downloads.

India's online music listening market is expected to surpass $273 million by March 2020, according to estimates from consulting firm Deloitte. This has been consistent since last few number of months, what we are seeing is Indian music dominating globally. "From recommended music videos, live performances, covers, to new videos - it's all here, and only here".

Over the a year ago artists like Guru Randhawa, Badshah, Arijit Singh and Neha Kakkar have reached the YouTube music country charts in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, along with the global chart. Then we have Apple Music priced at Rs 120 per month, Amazon Music costing Rs 129 per month, Gaana priced at 99 per month and JioSaavn at Rs 99 per month.

YouTube Music offers several features, including a home screen that "dynamically adapts to provide recommendations based on what you've played before, where you are and what you're doing".
