The trio was banned for their part in the so-called sandpaper scandal during the third test against South Africa in Cape Town past year, while Darren Lehmann quit as coach in the wake of a Cricket Australia investigation.

First time Australia have chased down more than 334 to win an ODI (produced record chase of 359 in fourth ODI to level the series).

The 3-2 result snaps a series losing streak in ODIs in India that dates back to a seven-game series in 2009. The tourists also ran out 2-0 winners in the preceding T20I series.

Australia are just the fifth team in history to achieve the feat. Hopefully it continues for the World Cup.

First time Australia have defeated India in a Twenty20 series, which was their first limited-overs series win in over a year.

"It's awesome how a sporting field can be starvation or feast and it's been starvation for Cricket Australia", Hayden said in commentary.

With the 2019 World Cup just a couple of months away, Yadav will be eager to get back to his best and help India mount a serious challenge at the quadrennial competition. People have written us off for quite a while now.

The win is Australia's third in a row of the tour, seeing them overturn a 2-0 series deficit.

"Honestly, every team at the World Cup is a threat".

Michael Clarke also tweeted his congratulations as Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins soaked up the historic win. Usman Khawaja compiled a 106-ball 100-run knock - his 2nd ODI century - while it was leg spinner Adam Zampa, in association with Pat Cummins, that deflated the Indian batting line-up, which for some unusual reason was an experimental one at best.

Odell Beckham Jr. trade has Giants fans questioning their very existence
Manning isn't almost what he once was, and keeping him only make the team's direction that much more confusing. The 26-year-old receiver was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014 and he has made three Pro Bowls.

"I'm feeling good at the moment, but never take it for granted", Khawaja said.

His huge tally was enough to earn him both the man of the match and man of the series awards.

"To come back from 2-0 down was a terrific effort from the guys".

It was a tough series no doubt, and beating India at home always calls for a celebration.

India mounted a comeback after that, with Jadeja removing Maxwell, caught by Kohli at extra cover, while Shami removed the well-set Handscomb for 52. Marcus Stoinis, returning from a thumb injury, contributed 20 and Jhye Richardson made a breezy 29 down the order.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets.

Australia's Adam Zampa, left, snares the big wicket of India's Rohit Sharma in Delhi. It was possibly a conscious decision by the team management, to test players before the World Cup squad is announced.

"I wouldn't want to be a selector. Especially the batsmen, I thought the way they played the spin let alone the quicks, to get those scores on these kind of wickets, they made it look a lot easier than they were".

Benefiting from the rare format continuity, the T20 side emerged victorious in the two-match entree, but after a pair of opening defeats in Vizag and Bangalore, the second from a position where the Australians really should have won, it appeared that both the ODI sides; time in the wilderness would be continuing.
