Verizon will switch on mobile 5G in Chicago and Minneapolis April 11th

The company said four initial cities - Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Kansas City - would have the service, followed by Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. Sprint said it would have 5G phones from LG Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. available for the launch. Because, of course, there is!

Verizon is moving ahead with its 5G ambitions with the announcement of the first two cities where it will deploy its ultra-fast connection. Live in a different city? Later this year the company will expand its 5G Ultra Wideband network to over 30 markets.

There is some fine print to be aware of.

Verizon says that users who add the $10 5G service will get unlimited data when on 5G with no limits or de-prioritization.

To start the Moto Z3 with a 5G Moto Mod attached is the only device that can connect to Verizon's 5G network.

Kansas City Chiefs trade Dee Ford to San Francisco 49ers, per report
For the Chiefs , the second round pick in 2020 won't do anything to help them rebuild a defense that also lost Justin Houston . The 49ers have managed to give up their 2020 second-rounder, while preserving the No. 36 overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Motorola's 5G add-on costs $350 (about £265, AU$495), as much as the the Moto Z3 itself at some online retailers.

In preparation of the rollout, Verizon will be opening pre-orders for its 5G Moto Mod on March 14.

5G, the next-generation wireless network, is expected to offer data speeds up to 50 or 100 times faster than 4G networks.

Samsung's Galaxy S10 5G, which is a larger, beefier version of the Galaxy S10+ and comes with a fourth rear camera, looks like it could be the first 5G phone for Verizon that won't be a brick in your trousers the way the Moto Z3 with 5G Moto Mod is. Even Verizon is using that careful language (it's also the exclusive U.S. carrier for Samsung's 5G phone for a limited time). 5G usage won't count toward the 22GB and 75GB de-prioritization thresholds, Verizon also told us.

It's in everyone's best interest to wait until all 5G networks are live from the major USA carriers so that we can get a better picture of which cities will get it this year and how much it'll cost. Customers using unlimited plans will be able to access the network for free for the first 90 days, after which they'll start paying the extra $10 per month for the service plan. That's an important factor to consider. For now, 5G Mobility is only in Chicago and Minneapolis.
