Tannehill to the Titans: The Miami Dolphins traded Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans on Friday.

Miami landed a fourth-round pick in 2020 and a seventh-round pick in 2019 in exchange for a sixth-round pick and Tannehill, according to National Football League insider Ian Rapoport.

Ryan Tannehill has a new home. Tennessee gets a 6th round pick in 2019 and Tannehill.

But Tannehill never lived up to expectations in Miami.

Tannehill, in all likelihood, was going to be released by the Dolphins this offseason, pending what they could figure out in the quarterback market. Bridgewater met with the Dolphins earlier this week before re-signing with New Orleans for one year and $7.25 million. His 62.8 completion percentage and 87.0 passer rating are both second all-time in Dolphins history.

Tannehill played collegiately at Texas A&M, where he threw for 5,450 yards and 42 touchdowns in 50 games, with 25 starts. Before the trade, Tannehill had two years remaining on his contract and would've been paid a base salary of $18.7 million in 2019 and $19.4 million in 2020.

He'll become the backup to Titans starter Marcus Mariota, who missed time during the 2018 season with a shoulder issue.
