She will replace Carson Daly in September, and her 1.30am show will be retitled A Little Late with Lilly Singh.

Singh's YouTube channel, known as IISuperwomanII, has over 14 million subscribers.

Some Indian-Canadian flair is coming to late-night TV as YouTube star and comedian Lily Singh becomes the first woman of colour to host a late-night talk show on a major US broadcast network.

"Ya girl is getting her own NBC late-night show", Singh said excitedly, which prompted the audience and Jimmy Fallon to erupt in cheers and applause.

Singh's announcement that she will be joining the male-dominated late-night host circuit is definitely a sign of progress.

She added: "No matter how many "boxes" you check, I encourage you to do the same".

Steam Link Anywhere lets you stream games from, well, anywhere
It should be added that iOS users are now out of luck, as Apple keep rejecting Valve's attempts to get the app on the App Store. Anyone with home streaming set up from their PC and either a Steam Link box or app elsewhere can play their games on the go.

Daly, who has hosted "Last Call With Carson Daly" for nearly two decades, announced in February that he was stepping down to spend more time with his family and focus on his other NBC shows, hosting "The Voice" and co-hosting "Today". "But I do think it's a little awesome for an Indian-Canadian woman also to get a show".

Singh's show will air after Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Singh took to Twitter to gush about her new job calling it a "dream come true".

Earlier in the day, Singh teased the "biggest announcement of my career", posting a photo in front of her Tonight Show dressing room.

Lilly Singh, who became a social media star with her YouTube videos, will now be hosting a late night show on NBC. "I'm thrilled to bring it to life on NBC, and I hope my parents consider this to be as exciting as a grandchild". "We can't wait to get started". "Female. Coloured. Bisexual", she wrote on Instagram. "This has been SO long in the making and I'm so happy I can finally share this with you". But now I'm fully embracing them as my superpowers.

In 2017, Forbes ranked Singh tenth among the highest paid YouTube stars with earnings of $10.5 million. She is also a New York Times bestselling author with her book "How To Be A Bawse: A Guide To Conquering Life".
