The company will also lift the covers off of its highly-anticipated streaming video service, which, like Apple News, is also set to come with a monthly subscription model and will likely immediately go head-to-head with established streaming services, such as Netflix. Apple is expected to use the event to unveil its rumored Apple News service and a streaming TV service. The report cites flexible PCB (printed circuit board) companies Flexium Interconnect and Zhen Ding Technology as working on iPad parts, with Compeq Manufacturing and Unitech PCB preparing rigid-flex boards for the AirPods.

Of course, this isn't the first time that Apple has conducted negotiations into the eleventh hour; in 2015 Apple also famously scheduled its launch of Apple Music ahead of actually having all of the contractual pieces in place, and then played a game of brinksmanship with the music industry.

Companies in Apple's supply chain are reportedly "gearing up for mass production" of new iPads and AirPods.

Apple Inc on Monday invited media to a March 25 event at the Steve Jobs Theater on its campus in Cupertino, California, where it is expected to launch a television and video service.
