Beto O'Rourke Is Running for President

"I think that John Cornyn is happy no one of Beto's status is going to run against him".

A former bassist in a punk band, O'Rourke's 1998 arrest for driving while intoxicated has been an issue in every campaign he has run and will undoubtedly resurface during his presidential bid.

Beto O'Rourke, the former Texas Representative formally announced his intent to run for the presidency in the USA 2020 elections.

"Perhaps most importantly of all, because our very existence depends on it, we can unleash the ingenuity and creativity of millions of Americans who want to ensure that we squarely confront the challenge of climate change before it's too late", O'Rourke said.

After months of speculation, O'Rourke formally announced on Thursday that he would seek the Democratic presidential nomination to challenge Trump.

"The only way for us to live up to the promise of America is to give it our all and to give it for all of us", O'Rourke, 46, said in a video release. A recent ad by the Club for Growth described O'Rourke's pushing a redevelopment scheme "to bulldoze a poor Hispanic neighborhood", the Post reported.

Asked in Burlington how he'd contrast himself with other presidential hopefuls, O'Rourke said that he wasn't sure but that he'd never been afraid to work with congressional Republicans. The three-term El Paso congressman notably received backlash for failing to clarify where he stood on issues during his unsuccessful run to unseat Republican Sen.

According to the report, Beto O'Rourke was heading to Iowa on Thursday to drum up support for his bid.

At a house party in Muscatine, Iowa, on Thursday night, O'Rourke said the United States needs to recognize that systematic racism exists in the country.
