"We've lined up artists who won't just entertain, but will remind the world that music has the power to bring people together, to heal, to move us to action and to tell the stories of a generation", said Michael Lang, co-founder and producer of the 1969 and 2019 Woodstock festivals.

Woodstock 50, which will be held August 16-18 in Watkins Glen in upstate NY state, 150 miles away from the site of the festival, will also feature the likes of Imagine Dragons, Chance the Rapper, The Lumineers and Janelle Monae.

In a much-anticipated announcement, on Tuesday, the lineup for this year's 50th anniversary celebration of the 1969 Woodstock concert was revealed.

"This lineup is an absolute travesty to the artists that played the original Woodstock festival", read a third tweet.

Day 2 (Saturday, Aug. 17): Dead and Company, Chance the Rapper, Black Keys, Sturgill Simpson, Greta Van Fleet, Portugal. The Man, Leon Bridges and many more.

With a lineup that includes everything from hip hop to country with more than 80 artists, Woodstock 50 lives up to vows of widespread appeal, featuring a diverse billing of artists including rapper Common, rockers The Black Keys, pop futurist Janelle Monae and folk-rock troubadour Brandi Carlile.
