'Supernatural' Ending After 15 Seasons on The CW | Supernatural, Television

"Supernatural" launched on The WB in 2005 and was renewed for Season 15 earlier this year.

No word yet on precisely when Season 15 will air, but we'll have the details as soon as we know.

A CW paranormal horror drama, season 14 of Supernatural stars Jared Padaldecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester (and sometimes the latest incarnation of the archangel Michael).

The show is now in its 14th season and recently celebrated its 300th episode, and was renewed back in January for a season 15, which will consist of 20 episodes.

Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins shared the news with fans via Twitter today, saying, "Even though we are excited about going into our 15th season, it will be our last". "We wanted you to hear from us that though we're excited about next year, it will be the finale, the big grand finale of an institution". You've changed my life so positively", and " You've created something so incredibly amazing and powerful for so many people around the world. For us, it has been an experience of a lifetime.

While this is obviously a sad day for Supernatural fans, rumors of the show reaching an end had been circling for a while.

They also shared a message from Supernatural creator Eric Kripke saying, "In a show about family, it is incredible and the pride of his life that it [the cast and crew] became family".
