Chhapaak First Look: Deepika Padukone Transforms Into Acid Attack Survivor Laxmi Agarwal

Deepika looks attractive and gives the glimpse of the undying spirit as acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal in the still. Together, Deepika and director Meghna Gulzar have raised everyone's expectations after releasing this still from the film.

Deepika Padukone's first look as acid attack survivor in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak has been unveiled. In Chhapaak, Deepika is playing a character, named Malti. It's also the actress's first film being bankrolled under her own production house, KA Entertainment. Chapaak will hit the screens on January 10, 2020. She plays the acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal in the biopic which traces her entire journey and how she braved all odds.

Earlier, Deepika had shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the table read of Chhapaak, where she was seen alongside her co-actor Vikrant Massey. Deepika tweeted the first look with a caption stating, "A character that will stay with me forever.#Malti Shoot begins today!#Chhapaak Releasing-10th January, 2020".

"We found pills inside the suitcase", the head of Bali's Conservation Centre, I Ketut Catur Marbawa, told AFP news agency. They searched his bag and found the two-year-old sedated orangutan in a wooden basket, which had been wrapped in clothing.

Deepika is also co-producing the film, along with Fox Star Studios.

"When I heard this story, I was deeply moved as it's not just one of violence but of strength and courage, hope and victory". She added that she will be talking to a few more acid attack survivors later. The prosthetic team has made sure to keep this in mind, and Deepika has got her first look right.
