The newly added markets are Austin, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose. In March, AT&T revealed it had achieved 1 Gbps on its live mobile 5G network using the Netgear Nighthawk hotspot.

To that end, AT&T is planning to have "at least" three 5G mobile devices out this year.

AT&T CFO John Stephens earlier said the mobile operator has developed some use cases for 5G technology, such as connected factories, but does not expect 5G-enabled handsets to hit the market until late 2019 or 2020.

ARguably AT&T has the best 5G infrastructure among the United States network providers while Verizon are offering the phones with 5G modems are the moment. 5G sounds great at and all, but it's practically useless if there's not a single device that supports its potential speeds yet. AT&T said it is the only mobile carrier to offer mobile 5G service to businesses and consumers, well ahead of its competitors such as Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Burger King Slammed on Social Media Over Chopsticks Ad
Tweets containing the original ad have been posted almost three million times online. Whilst many agreed with her criticism of the ad, some told her she was overreacting.

The situation is not much better with the 5G-enabled smartphones.

AT&T has come under fire from other carriers and tech media for renaming its LTE Advanced Pro network to 5G E, with critics saying the rebranding misleads customers into thinking they have true 5G connectivity.

"We spent the early part of this year accelerating and advancing our 5G network with early adopters by our side".

"Last December we officially introduced the nation's first commercial mobile 5G service", said Andre Fuetsch, AT&T Labs president and CTO. It's working with "some of the most innovative companies in the world" to offer new experiences that are only possible with 5G connections.
