According to reports in the Israeli media, the MI native who is rumored to have purchased property in Tzfat will sing two songs on May 14, taking home a $1.5 million fee that was reportedly furnished by Israeli-Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams.

Adams has lived in Israel since 2015, and has funded several major projects, including the Giro d'Italia Big Start bike race that took place in the Jerusalem area past year.

Performance of the icon will be "both historical and hysterical", commented promoters Live Nation Israel.

Excitement has fast been mounting for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv on May 14-18, and now it's at fever pitch with the announcement that pop diva Madonna will perform two songs during the Grand Final show on May 18.

"Official news and updates will come directly from the Eurovision channels in due course".

Madonna's decision to appear, confirmed by a representative, could prove controversial after stars including Pink Floyd's Roger Waters called for a boycott.

What humanity learned from the first-ever image of a black hole
The outline of one of the universe's most compelling mysteries - a vestige, perhaps, of the big bang itself - has been revealed. Not only are they able to emit huge jets of plasma, but their enormous gravity pulls in streams of matter into its core.

This would be Madonna's fourth performance in Israel.

The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Israel after Netta Barzilai won previous year with her song, Toy.

"I'm excited and proud to host Madonna in Israel and to bring her to the Eurovision, which will be held in Tel Aviv", said Adams in a statement on Monday evening.

Adams told the Jerusalem Post that the concert is likely to improve Israel's image across the world.

Madonna will be following in the footsteps of fellow American megastar Justin Timberlake, who provided the interval show for Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm.

Reality show victor Michael Rice will represent the United Kingdom in this year's contest, performing a track called Bigger Than Us.
