Update: Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order is utilizing Unreal 4 Engine instead of the expected Frostbite.

With the film now in post-production and on track to meet that December release slot, Abrams sounds a lot more relaxed. We don't know a ton about it yet, but the art looks pretty cool.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is being developed by Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall and Apex Legends, but it's thought that Fallen Order will be a single player game. Respawn's promise to push a dynamic story should share similarities with Visceral's project, and the game should follow the magic of the movies quite closely while adding to the canon. Remember that this game takes place at some point after Star Wars™: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith™. Respawn CEO Vince Zampella gave it a slipshod reveal from the audience of EA's E3 2018 press conference.

The director also admitted that he initially "wasn't supposed to be there" and, when Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy asked him to take over for original director Colin Trevorrow, he nearly said, "No, I'm not going to do this".

With Star Wars Celebration kicking off in a couple of days and an Episode IX panel scheduled, we can surely expect to learn the title and at least see a teaser for the new movie. It will, therefore, be an action game, but not one to be completed within a weekend.

"It doesn't matter if it's in first person". Since EA signed an exclusive, multi-year licensing agreement to publish Star Wars games, the publisher has done very little with the IP.

It's hard to tell exactly what this means which is all the more reason to be excited for the unveiling. "But it still has to be about feel and fun".
