The Philadelphia 76ers are set to begin their pursuit of a championship with a series against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, and Joel Embiid is not sure if he will be available to play in Game 1.

Despite appearing to have a huge advantage over their rivals on paper, the Sixers realize the last thing they can do is underestimate the Nets, especially since the two teams split the four-game series during the regular season.

"I just looked down because he said his daughter was extremely sick and he was checking on her", Embiid said.

Johnson issued an apology a few hours after the team's 111-102 loss.

"I take full responsibility and will accept the consequences of my actions". "I also apologize to my teammates, the 76ers organization and the fans for the distraction this has caused".

In a report by Reuters , it was gathered that the event played out Thursday, April 11, during the pope's short retreat at the Vatican.

At the very least this is going to cost Embiid and/or Johnson a lot of money, and he could be forced to sit for Game 2.

The Sixers said Johnson would be dealt with quickly, and shortly after the game, the team released a statement saying that Johnson had been fined.

"It's not something that we are about", Brown said.

Embiid, who appeared in only 31 games over his first two National Basketball Association seasons due to multiple injuries, averaged 27.5 points and 13.6 rebounds over 64 appearances this season.
