Samsung Electronics said that the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will be available for purchase in Korea starting April 5, enabling consumers to unlock an entirely new mobile experience with the most advanced network available.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the phone will be available to pre-order in the U.S. from April 18, with a tentative release date of May 16 - if that's correct, it'll actually launch after the Samsung Galaxy Fold. No information about pricing options emerged though, so we're still in the dark on that one.

Other specifications on the new Galaxy S10 5G include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and high end cameras. "Electronic companies like Samsung, the factories, production lines, contents that goes inside 5G phones ... they believe everything that is constituting the IT ecosystem will meet a new era under 5G network".

The only thing that remains to learn is how much Verizon will charge customers for the 5G-powered flagship and whether or not there will be any promotions that will make the device more appealing. That's because the phone doesn't just offer 5G support; it also sports a bigger screen and battery than the Galaxy S10+.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 devices over a month ago, and the devices were said to have sold in record-breaking quantities over their first few weeks on the market, with analysts expecting the phones to outsell the Galaxy S9 models by around 40%. On the downside, there's only one United States carrier that offers 5G services at the moment, and even Verizon only has the service available in two cities, Chicago and Minneapolis.

Samsung almost won the title of "first commercially available 5G phone", but Motorola beat it to the punch by less than 48 hours with the release of a 5G mod for the Moto Z3 in the USA, which lets users add 5G connection to the 2018 handset.

South Korea's major mobile operators abruptly launched the superfast fifth generation wireless technology services ahead of schedule Wednesday evening - and claimed the world's first 5G service by releasing it an hour before Verizon. "I'll be able to enjoy it in better resolution and speed".
