‘Armed and Dangerous’ Woman Sought by Police Amid Columbine Threat

They say she made threats just days before the 20th anniversary of the attack in the school that left 13 people dead.

A "BOLO" sent out by Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force says "NO PC TO ARREST" meaning authorities at the time the BOLO was created did not have enough probable cause to arrest her.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies were posted at the schools involved.

All schools in the Denver area were urged to tighten security because the threat was deemed "credible and general", said Patricia Billinger, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Public Safety.

On Tuesday, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office placed Columbine and 21 surrounding schools under a security "lockout", allowing activities inside to continue as usual but restricting entry and exit at the schools.

Once in Colorado, authorities said she legally purchased a pump-action shotgun and ammunition from a retailer in Littleton.

Security alerts and safety drills have become commonplace in public schools across the United States since the Columbine shooting as campus gun violence has grown more frequent.

Jefferson County Public Schools, which includes Columbine High School, were placed on lockout due to the threat, CBS Denver reported.

A civil administrator, Narendra Kumar Rana, said the four passengers and a flight attendant on the plane were safe. Last month, seven people, including Nepal's tourism minister were killed in a helicopter crash in eastern Nepal.

At 2:48 p.m. the Colorado Department of Education tweeted: "Due to a credible threat to schools by an individual identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Public Safety recommends all schools in the Denver metro area conduct a lockout and controlled release immediately".

At least one school district heeded the advice. Some say they just want to pay their respects, but others claim they are in love with the shooters - or sometimes that they have been reincarnated with the shooters' souls. She is about 5-foot-5 and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, camouflage trousers and black boots, authorities said. "I think she's going to be OK", the man said.

Officials have said Pais was "infatuated with (the) Columbine school shooting" and should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous".

Almost 20 school districts in the greater Denver area will be closed Wednesday due to security concerns just days ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting.

That system was tested in December, when Columbine High School went into lockout for hours on a Thursday.

Columbine survivors acknowledge how different things are for their own kids twenty years after they experienced the horror of gunfire in the classroom.

The FBI Denver Division and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help regarding a potential credible threat in the Denver metropolitan area. The students walked to crosswalks and buses parked near the entrance. There was no immediate indication whether Tuesday's lockdown has any connection to the anniversary.
