Wisconsin man’s wager on Tiger earns him more than $1.2M

It was the largest payout on a golf ticket in the history of William Hill U.S. and the fourth time overall that the sportsbook at the SLS has paid out a seven-figure win.

The mystery United States punter placed an $85,000 (£64,900) bet on Woods winning the Masters with William Hill, two days before the tournament teed off, winning the life-changing sum from the 14/1 odds.

"I don't doubt that this is going to be his most special one yet".

The unidentified bettor earned a record $1.19 million payout from William Hill after Woods triumphed Sunday at Augusta National following an eventful final round to claim his first major title in nearly 11 years.

"I believe my direct quote was, 'Guys, there's no way Tiger is winning this tournament, ' " the executive, Matthew Primeaux, told ESPN.
