The CBS report says that one man traveled from NY and infected 38 people in MI, which began the outbreak there.

On Wednesday, the ministry said it would keep child healthcare centers open throughout the Passover holiday next week, when children are on vacation, in a coordinated drive to step up vaccination rates.

NY health officials issued summonses to parents of three children Thursday for not vaccinating their children against measles, a violation of the city's emergency order mandating immunizations to control a surging outbreak.

Itamar Grotto, associate director general of the ministry, told CNN that the woman has been "in a deep coma for 10 days, and we're now just hoping for the best".

Sun added: "People born between 1957 and 1989 generally only had one MMR dose". Israel now recommends two doses of the MMR/MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella and varicella) vaccine, but it's not known whether the woman received the second dose.

Phillips urged Maryland residents to ensure their families have been vaccinated for measles and other "vaccine-preventable diseases". Infections were mostly centered in ultra-Orthodox communities were vaccination rates were low.

"Most people in Tennessee are vaccinated against measles and that's important, but infants and those with weakened immune systems are still at high risk for infection", said TDH Commissioner Lisa Piercey, MD, MBA, FAAP.

Maryland health officials confirmed Wednesday that a third person contracted measles in the Pikesville area of the state this month.

The measure is the broadest vaccination order in the United States in almost three decades.

Health officials on Thursday were sounding the alarm on the sprawling outbreak of measles that has seen thousands of cases nationwide in the past year, after a flight attendant and a 10-year-old boy were believed to have suffered irreversible brain damage from the highly contagious disease, and as some 45,000 Israeli children reportedly remained unvaccinated.

Officials said only 15 other cases have been diagnosed in the state in the last decade.

Over the previous year, the largest numbers have been in Ukraine, Madagascar and India, with each reporting more than 60,000 cases.
