Joshua, 29, swapped Wembley Stadium for the Garden after promoter Hearn failed to secure an opponent, so is set to make his United States debut after almost six years as a professional to build a fanbase stateside.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn said: "We have been informed by VADA that there has been an adverse finding in Jarrell Miller's sample collected on March 20". Miller reportedly tested positive for GW1516, which is a doping agent with some risky side effects.

30, had ironically spent portions of the press tour leading up to his fight with Joshua (22-0, 21 KOs), claiming that the British champion - who holds the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles - was himself using performance-enhancing drugs.

The news was broken by ESPN's Dan Rafael on April 16, who reported that Miller had tested positive for GW1516, a banned substance listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency's site as a metabolic modulator and is commonly used for weight loss and boosting stamina.

Although Joshua's preparations will continue the VADA news leaves the Miller fight in doubt and a replacement fighter may need to be found for what would be Joshua's U.S. debut. The matchup was going to be Joshua's debut fight in the United States.
