Castlevania The Adventure, released in 1989, was the first game in the franchise made for handheld devices introducing inventive gameplay mechanics for players to explore the world of Transylvania as Christopher Belmont.

As an added bonus, those that download the collection will also receive an eBook, which includes an interview with the producer of the Netflix Castlevania Animated Series, Adi Shankar! Some were hoping it would be part of this collection, but it seems we're getting the arguably inferior original Game Boy version instead. Also, four other Castlevania games that are included in the collection were revealed on Thursday. Originally, for the Famicom console, Kid Dracula was created to be a parody of the series. You may not be familiar with this title as it never released outside of Japan. Castlevania Anniversary Collection will be available from May 16th. The anniversary being celebrated is the existence of Konami itself, which turns 50 in 2019. The inclusion of Kid Dracula is quite awesome as until now the game has been locked to a Japanese only release. Lastly, the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC for $19.99.
