'God of War: Raising Kratos' Sony documentary gets a trailer

They even released a new trailer highlighting the game's accolades since launch; including the more than 190 different Game of the Year awards it won!

It has been one year since 2018's Game of the-Year God of War graced our screens.

Director Cory Barlog and others have previously spoken about the long-term development of God of War and the many obstacles they faced along the way.

Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced "Raising Kratos" a making-of documentary dedicated to the ultra-popular God of War by Santa Monica Studios. However, the interesting bit comes in towards the end when Kratos is seen walking towards an opening in the cave saying the words "we have a long journey ahead".

It doesn't look like there's any sort of release date for the documentary just yet, but it'll be touching down on the official PlayStation YouTube channel when it's ready.

The God of War documentary will be about the game's creation but will also focus on Santa Monica Studio who worked on the game.

"The ultimate goal was to go beyond a "making of" piece and dig deeper into the experiences of those who spend relentless time and effort into making something great", Sony Worldwide Studios America game development head Scott Rohde explained on the PlayStation Blog. This full-length feature documentary, coming very soon to PlayStation YouTube.

The new trailer is the most recent part of God Of War's anniversary week that has come out.

Facing an unknown future, Santa Monica Studio took a massive risk, fundamentally changing their beloved franchise and re-establishing their rightful place in video game history.
