The former Lakers coach allegedly made unwanted advances toward sports reporter Kelli Tennant while he was an assistant with the Warriors, according to the TMZ report and the Los Angeles Times.

When she arrived, she said Walton convinced her to come to his room and pinned her to the bed once there, forcibly kissing and groping her.

Tennant claimed Walton met her in a Santa Monica hotel room and "forced himself on her".

According to reports, Tennant claimed she did not go public regarding the alleged assault because of her job. She claims she screamed for him to stop and tried to free herself, but Walton held her down and rubbed his erection on her leg.

At this time, the Kings are aware of the report, but they are now gathering information and have no further comment.

A store employee later found the pooches in scorching 90-degree temperatures and contacted Riverside County Animal Services. Security footage from surveillance cameras installed at the store show the woman getting out of a Jeep carrying a bag.

The Warriors also released a statement, saying they only learned of the allegation on Monday and are seeking more information. "The accuser is an opportunist, not a victim, and her claim is not credible", Walton's lawyer Mark Baute told the Sacramento Bee. She said Walton continued to harass her after he became coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and she was working as a broadcaster in Los Angeles for Spectrum SportsNet and SportsNet LA.

Ganguli and ESPN's Ramona Shelburne confirmed via sources that Tennant's allegations never were reported to the Lakers.

Walton coached the Lakers the last three seasons before he and the team mutually agreed to part ways earlier this month. The team had no other comment. "We'll have no further comment at this time".

ESPN cited sources in reporting that the National Basketball Association opened an investigation into the case, although the league hasn't officially commented.
