Although eyebrows were raised when the duchess first started using her own snaps in place of official palace photographs, there's no doubt these candid portraits come to life with a mother's touch - showing Louis in a natural light, happy at play. The future Queen appears to be the Cambridge family photographer and seems to be on hand to take candid photos of her royal babies to share with the public on each of their birthdays. Catherine took the pictures herself and showed off her photography skills in the shots.

With a lifetime of royal duty ahead of him, Prince Louis will soon become accustomed to dressing in his best for formal photographs.

In the first two photos, little Louis could be seen grinning from ear to ear in the garden.

Queen Elizabeth Celebrates Her 93rd Birthday With Royal Family at Easter Service
In 2015, she surpassed the six-decade reign of Queen Victoria, her great-great grandmother who ruled from 1837 to 1901. The Queen traditionally spends a month-long residence at Windsor Castle, known as Easter Court, each year.

The name Louis was already one of George's middle names and pays tribute to the Prince of Wales's great-uncle, Earl Mountbatten, who was murdered by the IRA.

Keeping with tradition, the Duchess took all of the birthday photos just like she has done in the past for elder children's birthday, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The fifth in line to the throne is beginning to look more and more like older brother George, with his sweep of blond hair no doubt smoothed with the same styling balm that Kate, 37, uses on her eldest son.

Kate recently revealed during a royal engagement that the tot was "bombing around" on a walker.

In honor of Prince William and Kate Middleton's youngest child's first birthday, the Royal Family released a new series of photos of the tiny tyke on Monday evening.

Another person wrote: "Louis is a mix of George and Charlotte".
