Pink moon to illuminate Friday night’s sky

Here at Altpress, we love all things spooky, so Friday's full moon is definitely something we're interested in.

Regardless of how much stock you put into the naming schemes, tonight's full moon will probably be worth your time to check out.

However, the moon itself isn't pink. It got that name from wild ground phlox, a pink flower that appears in April, according to the Farmer's Almanac.

While it doesn't appear pink, the moon reached peak fullness at 7:12 p.m. according to state meteorological bureau PAGASA.

When's the best time to see it?

The Full Moon on Thursday, April 18, 2019, is known as a Pink Moon and Easter Moon.

Depending on the tribe, May's full Moon was called the Full Flower Moon, as well as the Mother's Moon, Milk Moon, and Corn Planting Moon.

On Friday, April 19, the "Pink Moon" will rise.

However, there was something special about the moon yesterday. She continues, saying, "Mars in Gemini will keep the conversation flowing". Just look towards the Northeast of the sky and see if you spot one.

As the moon orbits the Earth and the Sun, it goes through a cycle of phases called the Lunar Cycle.
