The event was organized by State Malariologist, Jammu, under Nation Vector Borne Disease Control Programme aimed at to create awareness regarding prevention, control and elimination of Malaria from the state.

She says malaria is a deadly and killer disease for not only children but adults as well. It is expected that the vaccine will be introduced in Ghana and Kenya soon.

Known as RTS-S, the vaccine is only helpful for children younger than 2 who receive four doses, at the ages of 5 months, 6 months, 7 months and 22 months.

For instance, Nigeria suffers the world's greatest malaria burden with approximately 51 million cases and over 200,000 deaths reported annually.

We hope that the vaccine will get to Nigeria and many other countries in the near future.
