NY has had the most illnesses this year, by far. "It's putting children at risk and other people at risk who are vulnerable to severe measles if you're not vaccinating your own child".

Doctors attributed this memory failure to the fact that many people got the vaccine as young children and often do not have documentation because they received it before electronic records were kept.

Six of the 13 outbreaks in the country were associated with communities with lower immunization rates, according to the CDC.

"Another factor contributing to the outbreaks in NY is misinformation spreading in some counties about the safety and effectiveness of the MMR vaccine".

As of April 23, there were 14 cases of measles reported in New Jersey. And, infants ages 6 to 11 months should also receive a dose of a measles vaccine before traveling internationally, since various countries are reporting extensive measles outbreaks'.
