Liverpool's 2-0 win over Wolves was rendered irrelevant by City's 4-1 victory at Brighton, leaving the Anfield faithful frustrated after it briefly appeared they might witness two football miracles in the space of a week.

"It's incredible what they did all season and today was a odd situation".

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice to ensure a share of the golden boot alongside Mane and Mohamed Salah, with Ashley Barnes responding for Burnley before Eddie Nketiah's stoppage-time third.

Thankfully though, the season is not over for Liverpool just yet as they still need to play the Champions League final against Spurs early next month.

It was no surprise to see Mane (8.4) come out on top in the averages, following another star showing from the Senegalese. But we can not ignore one team were better.

Ben Pringle of the Express felt his movement "gave Liverpool a spark that was needed", on a day when the all-round performance of the team was a little jaded after their excursions against Barcelona.

Trump Denies He Asked Barr To Probe Russia Origins
As he prepared to depart the White House on Tuesday, Trump was asked whether he retained confidence in Wray, given his answer. Trump said it was "ridiculous" that Wray wouldn't call the FBI's efforts to investigate the Trump campaign "spying".

The former Borussia Dortmund manager said his current side would get better next season, telling BBC Radio 5: "We made a much bigger jump development wise. We will go again, 100 per cent". This team is not the finished article.

The Reds will play Tottenham on June 1 in the Champions League final, the biggest prize in European club soccer.

It wasn't enough for the Reds to pip Manchester City to the title, despite finishing the campaign with a whopping 97 points. City stayed composed and imposed the qualities that make them such worthy champions: technical brilliance enhanced by a formidable will to win. City got the points they have because we were there.

"Of course we brought new players in but the majority are the same and they made insane steps". Being second in the Premier League is not exactly what I wanted but we have to see it as the first step for this team.

"What we have achieved is thanks to hard work and commitment of the boys but we want to go again".
