There Are Now Three Star Wars TV Shows In Development

Game of Thrones creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff may be wrapping up their final season in Westeros, but now they've got a new adventure ahead of them.

"In coming up with the title we just looked at the film and asked ourselves, 'What are we saying?' It feels very much like the title of this film".

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are officially taking the reigns of Star Wars.

It was revealed a year ago that the pair would write and produce a new series of Star Wars films, separate from both the episodic Skywalker saga and the previously announced trilogy that is in development from Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Rian Johnson. It is set to open on December 16, 2022.

"My guess is there probably will be at least one more live-action series that we produce for Disney+, a Star Wars series, before we release the next film", the executive said, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

The Mandalorian will be available November 12, 2019 on Disney+. Today, we have a little more information on the first of those films.

JJ Abrams' The Rise Of Skywalker will bring it to a close in December. Now, we're not going to wait until ['The Rise of Skywalker'] is released and start figuring it out, we're actually hard at work doing that already. "Three years was the proper amount of time to not only take a breather and reset, but really gear up for the next film's release".
