Former national security adviser Michael Flynn told investigators that people linked to the Trump administration and Congress reached out to him in an effort to interfere in the Russian Federation probe, according to newly-unredacted court papers filed Thursday.

It appears that Trump was watching Fox News on Air Force One when the tweet was posted a little more than 15 minutes after a segment on the unsealed Flynn file that came out Thursday, revealing portions of what Flynn shared with federal investigators. Flynn even provided a voicemail recording of one such communication, the court papers say.

In a separate court filing, Judge Emmet Sullivan ordered prosecutors to turn over redacted portions of Mr. Mueller's report, which would make them public.

No additional details were Given however, the Mueller report stated the an email message was left by President Donald Trump attorney in late November 2017 which addressed the chance of him and the authorities cooperating.

Prosecutors said Flynn "provided a voicemail recording" related to "communications from persons connected to the administration or congress that could have affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation".

"In some of those instances, the (Special Counsel's Office) was unaware of the outreach until being alerted to it" by Flynn, the newly unsealed court record said.

Flynn pleaded guilty in December 2017 to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about conversations with Russia's ambassador.

The newly unsealed documents in the Flynn case also highlight just how important he was as a source to prosecutors investigating Russian interactions with the Trump political operation during the campaign and transition.

That includes conversations with senior campaign officials "during which the prospect of reaching out to WikiLeaks was discussed".
