Apart from the superhero flick, Pattinson is in talks to feature in another Warner Bros film which will also star John David Washington.

When he does finally accept the role of Bruce Wayne, it'll make for one busy year for Robert Pattinson. As for Batman himself, Robert Pattinson is reportedly the "top choice" for the role after Ben Affleck departed to direct and star in Ghost Army. Pre-production will start this year, assuming as soon as Pattison agrees to don the suit.

The report notes that Pattinson's deal hasn't been signed, so nothing is final yet.

According to sources speaking with Variety, Pattinson is now in talks to take on the role of Batman in The Batman. Looking at the previous actors, Robert will be the youngest actor to play the role of Batman in any movie. At present, the Twilight actor is said to be "holding the edge" over Hoult, though the report notes that both actors are liked by the casting team. Many villains appear in the story, and Batman often does have to deal with a handful of enemies at once throughout his most epic tales.

A climber scaled the heights of the Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower, the iconic signature of the Parisian skyline, was evacuated Monday afternoon after a climber scaled its heights. In October 2017, the tower also was evacuated after a man ventured out onto one of the beams and threatened to commit suicide.

The comments and headlines were clever, but some of the more thoughtful ones were either supportive or very upset that the icon would be played by Pattinson.

Reeves, the director of Cloverfield, Let Me In, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes, took over directing duties of The Batman in February 2017. While the quality of the movies have gone up and down, in my opinion the track record of Batman casting has been pretty consistent.

Robert Pattinson is best known for his role as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight series and as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter series.

"The Batman" is scheduled to hit theaters in June 2021.
