It is also claimed in the same story that Sarri may not be out of work for long - as he is one of the names in the running to take over at Juventus.

If he does decide to return to his homeland and replace Allegri at Juventus, Chelsea will not stand in the way of Sarri's wishes.

Current England assistant manager Steve Holland, who enjoyed six seasons as Chelsea's assistant manager under a number of different bosses, is also 5/1 (+500) for the top role at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have reportedly made the decision to sack Maurizio Sarri this summer and replace him with Frank Lampard.

Zuma blames NPA for delay in prosecution
State prosecutors say that Zuma extracted a bribe of almost US$35,000 in exchange for the contract, as "protection money". Outside court, BLF leader Mr Mngxitama told Mr Zuma's supporters that the case was a "judicial lynching".

Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovic was also thought to be less than impressed with Sarri's questioning of the clubs recent post-season friendly in the US in support of antisemitism, despite the club still having to prepare for next week's Europa League final.

But perhaps the bigger problem is that some of Chelsea's big names are now on loan at the club and Sarri had plans to make the deals permanent during the summer. They want Lampard who during his time at Stamford Bridge showed himself to be one of the best players in their history and is now their highest scorer of all time.

Sarri and Pochettino will feature in upcoming European finals, with Chelsea to face Arsenal in the Europa League decider (May 29) and Tottenham set to meet Liverpool in the Champions League (June 1) showpiece.

Lampard has impressed in his first season in management, leading Derby to the Championship play-off final against Aston Villa on Monday, live on Sky Sports Football.
