According to Variety, the studio made the announcement via a text message to fans.

Hot on the heels of the release of the third instalment in the neo-noir action thriller film franchise, "John Wick", Lionsgate announced on Monday that it has scheduled "John Wick 4" for a 2021 release.

In John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, Reeves returned to his role as an ex-assassin turned target after transgressing the fundamental rule by killing a man at the Continental Hotel.

"You have served. You will be of service". That was almost double the fourth weekend of "Avengers: Endgame" at $30 million.

Chapter 3 - Parabellum starring Keanu Reeves, bowed with $35 million from 66 worldwide markets.

Australia held a national election yesterday which all of the polls predicted for weeks would be won handily by the Labour Party. The organization also said Morrison's coalition was ahead among other three seats which are yet to be declared.

John Wick 3 managed to unseat the Marvel juggernaut Avengers: Endgame at the North American box office with $56.8 million in its opening weekend (which almost doubles Endgame's $30 million).

The first film opened in October 2014 with $14.4 million with Chapter 2 debuting in February 2017 with $$30.4 million, and Chapter 3 arrived in theaters this past weekend with $56.8 million. The movie sees Reeves return as a former hitman on the run from assassins.

Halle Berry, Angelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, and Jason Mantzoukas are also starring in the film alongside Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman, and Tiger Hu Chen.

Following the release of the third instalment in the series, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, earlier this month, executives at Lionsgate announced on Monday they have greenlit another film, now titled John Wick: Chapter 4. It joins "DC Super-Pets" on the date.
