"It makes me wonder why he did that", said Pelosi following the meeting. Deutsche Bank rejected requests for Trump's records when Democrats were the minority in the House of Representatives, but began cooperating after Democrats won the majority in the 2018 midterm elections.

A short time later, Pelosi was left waiting for 15 minutes in the White House's Cabinet Room, along with her colleagues from the House and Senate. Trump said the thing "I think most of you would agree to this, I'm the most transparent president probably in the history of this country".

Not long after the House speaker accused President Trump of a "cover-up", the president hastily assembled reporters in the Rose Garden to forcefully deny her charge, denounce the Mueller investigation once again and rip the press as well.

Trump is clearly shook by the momentum building, referring to impeachment as "the I word" and clearly more offended by it than the n-word.

Ramos also concluded that the subpoenas have "a legitimate legislative purpose" and dismissed one-by-one arguments made to try to bury them, though he conceded that records released publicly could cause Trump and his family irreparable harm. Trump's attorneys notified the judge on Tuesday that they have appealed "all aspects" of that ruling. And Trump appeared to relish the Democratic division in a Wednesday tweet: "The Democrats are getting ZERO work done in Congress".

A representative from Deutsche bank told ABC News on Wednesday: "We remain committed to providing appropriate information to all authorized investigations and will abide by a court order regarding such investigations".

Round 2 of the president's consultations with congressional Democrats on infrastructure went bust in a flash.

It was Woods performance in the Players Championship that really caught the eye, with rounds of 65 and 69 during the weekend. With the leaders in the US Open normally hovering around par, this produces a great opportunity for Woods to capitalize.

Deutsche Bank has lent Trump's real estate company millions of dollars over the years.

Both Deutsche Bank and Capital One wrote in court filings that they take "no position" on the subpoenas and that the dispute is between Trump and the House.

Attorneys for the president, his children and his namesake company argued in court Wednesday that the subpoenas lacked legislative goal and sought a court order preventing the banks from complying.

Douglas Letter, a lawyer for the committees, said the subpoenas were part of a "very serious investigation on behalf of the American people" that could lead to legislation aimed at reducing foreign influence in USA politics.

"This is a massive, fundamental misunderstanding Mr. Trump has with Congress", said Letter. "And we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a cover-up", she had told reporters.

The president had already lost a similar case in a federal court in Washington this week, when a judge found that Trump could not block a Congress subpoena for information from a financial services firm that had done some accounting for him. Capitol One is among the banks that houses Trump's personal accounts.

Trump called Mehta's decision "crazy" and vowed to appeal.
