England are hoping Barbados-born fast bowler Jofra Archer, who only qualified in March, will be the X-factor in a varied attack that also includes the experience of seamer Chris Woakes and leg-spinner Adil Rashid.

On the other hand, Ben Stokes, too, played a crucial part in England's thrilling three-wicket win against Pakistan in the fourth ODI- A match where he played a unbeaten knock of 71 from 64 balls.

While host captain Eoin Morgan picked Australia's assistant coach Ricky Ponting, India captain Virat Kohli went for his South African counterpart Faf du Plessis.

A question on that mouth-watering contest was always coming and when it came, Kohli and Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed were asked how they will approach the high-pressure game.

For defending champions Australia, skipper Aaron Finch didn't seem too happy with his pacers and settled for Kagiso Rabada of South Africa, while Faf himself made a decision to pick not one, but three in Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins of Australia and Afghan spinner Rashid Khan.

"If you could add one player to your squad from another team, which player would you choose?" "I'm sure they will have it in the back of their mind, 'Hey, this is the most risky batsman they've ever seen in cricket'". We keep saying again and again.

"They will need results and when you need to apply pressure, teams may play a bit more conservatively". Yes, you feel the anticipation and excitement of the fans when you enter the stadium but as soon as you step on the field, it is very professional.

"Then you will not see many teams going gung-ho from ball one. That is the kind of pressure the World Cup brings", he said.

West Indies won the first two World Cups in 1975 and 1979 under the legendary Clive Lloyd and were losing finalists in the 1983 tournament, but have failed to make the grade ever since.

"He has the X Factor and bowls a skill set that is very different from everyone". He can generate a lot of pace, which can be intimidating. He's a great athlete.

Kohli, next to Eoin Morgan on one of the leather sofas upon which the full-kit captains sat, claimed to be unaware of his status as Archer's target. "Did he say that?"

I've no idea. I don't think there's anybody that's head and shoulders above everybody else. That's news to me. "We haven't played together for a couple of months but the guys are really excited to be back and we're looking forward to the challenges ahead". "Those things give you that extra drive", said Gayle, the most experienced West Indies player in the squad with 10,151 runs in 289 ODIs. Our focus is mainly to contribute to the team in whatever way we can. I take a lot of pride in performing for the team and making impact performances.

"If Jofra's said that, it's a big compliment because he himself is a world-class bowler", he said.
