According to Kotaku, the game is a soft reboot of the original game and will "be heavy on troubling, realistic emotions", inspired by the No Russians section from Modern Warfare II.

I can confirm this is true, and that it's hilarious.

With Activision having chosen to have a very low-key presence at E3 this year, it seems the publisher has chose to drop its big announcements just beforehand - the main one obviously being their next big Call of Duty title, which is now confirmed to be called Modern Warfare (which will no doubt confuse a lot of people). Eurogamer have also said that the title is accurate. This new title will apparently be a reinvention of sorts of the first title, though it's not entirely clear what that means at this point. Whether or not the game will be a reboot for the series remains unknown. It's now unknown exactly what this means. This put many minds to rest following the release of Black Ops 4, after the game featured no Campaign.

Call of Duty Mobile is created to bring together multiple Call of Duty modes onto a mobile platform, including multiplayer, Zombies, and even Black Ops 4's battle-royale mode, Blackout.

News of this year's strangely named Call of Duty leaked out via YouTuber LongSensation last night. He had the name right before it was confirmed by reports and he has continued adding more details about what is coming from Infinity Ward. However, this hasn't always proven popular with fans.

The publisher says the game will be revealed this quarter and sources pinpoint a May 30 announcement for Modern Warfare.
