Here's a head scratcher: for seemingly no reason on Sunday night, Justin Bieber made a decision to hop on Twitter and publicly challenge 56-year-old Tom Cruise to a UFC-style MMA fight in the Octagon!

Bieber wrote: "I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon".

Never one to miss out on a PR opportunity, former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor chimed in to offer to host the fight if "Tom Cruise is man enough to accept".

Bieber also tagged Dana White into the message, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Requesting to fight 56-year-old Tom Cruise, Justin Bieber threw down a gauntlet nobody saw coming.

"Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight?" he inquired, simultaneously offering his own company's services in hosting the clash and then offering to fight actor Mark Wahlberg on the undercard.

"We live in a world where Justin Bieber is asking Tom Cruise for a fight in the octagon on Twitter". Stay tuned to find out whether this is just some sort of PR move for upcoming music from Bieber or if The Biebs actually has beef with Cruise.

If they ever do fight, our money is on Tom Cruise.

"I challenge Mark Wahlberg on the very same card", he said. Cruise has no professional experience in combat sports, but did participate in a bare-knuckle boxing match in the 1992 movie "Far and Away".

Wahlberg does indeed own shares in UFC, along with a host of other celebrities including Ben Affleck, LL Cool J, Tyler Perry, South Park creator Trey Parker, Sylvester Stallone and the Williams sisters.
