Shelby County Commissioner Tami Sawyer identified the fugitive who was killed, but the man was not named by authorities.

That man was Webber, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the case.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was on the scene Wednesday night of an officer-involved shooting in the 2000 block of Durham in Frayser.

"This is my district".

He said at a news conference on Thursday morning that in the course of the unrest he was impressed by law enforcement officers' "professionalism and incredible restraint as they endured concrete rocks being thrown at them and people spitting at them". When officers attempted to prevent him from fleeing in a vehicle, the man rammed his auto into their vehicles before getting out of his vehicle with a weapon.

At least 24 officers and deputies were injured after protests erupted in Memphis, Tennessee, in response to a fatal shooting by members of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Six officers were taken to the hospital, Mayor Jim Strickland said in a statement.

As more protesters arrived, more police appeared, ultimately leading to confrontation.

It was Woods performance in the Players Championship that really caught the eye, with rounds of 65 and 69 during the weekend. With the leaders in the US Open normally hovering around par, this produces a great opportunity for Woods to capitalize.

A crowd grew after the shooting, and continued to escalate until 22:00 local time when it began to rain and police used tear gas and loud speakers to disperse protesters.

Police were called to the area for crowd control after news of the shooting circulated online.

"I was in Frayser tonight because Brandon Webber was shot 16-20 times in his family's front yard", Sawyer tweeted. TBI investigators then give their report to the district attorney, who will decide whether to pursue charges against officers involved.

Rallings implored residents to wait until the TBI finishes its investigation before spreading possible misinformation about the shooting.

"I was proud of our first responders", Strickland said in a statement. A helicopter flew overhead as police cars trickled away. "If you witnessed acts of violence or vandalism, you need to call police".

"A concrete wall outside a business was torn down". Police cars and a nearby fire station were damaged.

"Let me be clear - the aggression shown towards our officers and deputies tonight was unwarranted", the mayor said.

Anderson said she worries about her son's safety every day.

"I just want him to see this, know what's going on, to be conscious", she said from the driver's seat of her vehicle, with her son in the passenger seat. "I fear for him all the time".
